The &#8220;Bookish China \u00b7 National Reading Month&#8221; launched nationwide in April 2017 will focus on welcoming the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, organizing a variety of themed reading activities such as keynote speeches, classic recitation, reading essay contests, and knowledge competitions, singing the main theme of the times that the Communist Party is good, socialism is good, reform and opening up is good, the great motherland is good, and all ethnic groups are good. Accelerate the integration and interconnection of urban and rural public reading service resources, make good use of existing resources, accurately allocate incremental resources, promote the construction of grassroots comprehensive cultural service centers according to local conditions, and establish a practical and convenient national reading infrastructure system covering urban and rural areas. Improve the long-term management mechanism of basic reading facilities such as libraries, rural libraries, community libraries, and staff libraries, and focus on improving the quality of book collections and continuously enhancing service levels through government procurement of services. Strongly support the development of physical bookstores and better leverage their social service functions. Carry out rich and diverse family reading activities to continuously promote parent-child reading. Strengthen the construction of bookish campuses in primary and secondary schools, carry out various forms of campus reading activities, and make full use of youth centers, children&#8217;s activity centers, and rural libraries to carry out extracurricular reading activities. Encourage and support reading promoters to widely carry out children&#8217;s reading promotion activities, strengthen research and application of children&#8217;s reading patterns, and explore the establishment of a Chinese children&#8217;s tiered reading system. Carry out recommendation activities for &#8220;Bookish Home&#8221;, &#8220;Bookish Village (Community)&#8221;, &#8220;Bookish Township (Town, Street)&#8221;, &#8220;Bookish Enterprise&#8221;, and &#8220;Bookish Agency&#8221;, improve the recommendation mechanism, showcase the reading tradition and style of grassroots people, and play a leading role as typical role models. Guide college students and middle-aged and young people to establish book clubs and carry out reading activities.
